The Rotor carpet is the result of a research about beauty as a side effect of the engineering process of technical products. The MoMA in 1934 featured this kind of objects in an exhibition entitled Machine Art to celebrate their artistic value. The Rotor carpet interprets an aeronautic engine with its radial pistons arranged around the axis of the helix. The propeller reveals the meaning of this composition that otherwise would just look like an articulated texture.
