The InBallo coffee tables came by serendipity, from the unplanned discovery of a technology for producing cardboard profiles used to protect and package household appliances. Right away, the idea was to use these extremely rigid profiles as cardboard legs connected to a metal top via folded brackets that snap into place and anchor themselves. The shape of the legs, which seems to evoke the classicism of ancient columns, but is actually an unintended result of the original protecting function of those elements. The side tables are designed to be shipped in minimal packaging and assembled by the end user without tools, screws, or glue.
