For the Ossessivo Inventivo exhibition, I was asked to represent my obsessions as a designer. Among the obsessive compulsive disorders in my design practice, the most obsessive certainly shows up when the design direction has been decided. Then I experiment, in a manner similar to a genetic hybridization, with possible variations of form. Here, changes in size, proportion, inclination, and alignment come into play, quite empirically, in search of a form that could be the right one. Doing and re-doing the same thing again, a thousand times, until exhaustion. So I decided to exhibit a sampling of the variants of one of these intricate paths, this time the subject was a metal vase. Nine versions that look similar but not egual, like nine beginnings and nine possible directions, to be refined with subsequent sampling and variations.
